Birdwatching in der Tonderner Marsch (Tøndermarsken)
The Tønder Marsh is still one of the most richly populated bird areas in Denmark, although the number of breeding birds, especially those that breed on meadows, has decreased noticeably.
In the Magister Koog (east of Rudbøl and north of the German border) breed, among other birds, Eurasian bittern, Greylag goose, Gadwall, Western marsh harrier and all common marsh birds. And the Savi’s warbler is also a regular breeding bird.
The Magister Koog has Denmark’s largest number of Bluethroats.
